What a walk! If you want to read my 'story' about it, you'll find it under 'Walks'.
I always worry my body will let me down and one morning I just won't be able to get out of bed. It didn't happen this time and every day was a joy to jump out of bed and get going with the next adventure.
The weather was amazing - hot and sunny. Too hot! Getting enough water was a bit of a problem but handy pubs are always helpful. The east side of the country was getting shat on - cold and rainy - and there I was stripping off clothes. I was walking in black trousers and black top - silly me. My hat, gloves, buff, coverall, spare socks etc lay dormant in my knapsack. I had no idea it was going to be such good weather. The weather forecast did not give me that impression.
Seem to have solved the blisters on my little toes. Got one - the size of a small zeppelin - on my second toe. Why? I've no idea. Never had one there before!! Still, slapped on a compeed and it was nae bother. The grease stick came in very handy. I grease all my toes before putting my socks on. Also used foam dividers to separate my little toes. So very happy with my feet.
Not a complaint from my shoulders. Have been building up my muscles with weights and this time no pain.
What a great place the north is. Can't wait for the next one. Not sure what that'll be.
I'm planning 8 days along the Cotswold Way for September. Will keep you posted!
